Actually it’s the first time VMware Hackathon will be present during VMware Explore (since the conference is called VMware Explore). But that’s a very well known and super fun event that was already presend during VMworld in previous years. Last time in 2021 in a virtual form. But now it’s back again to real in-person verision that everyone was waiting for!

As described on the official VMware blog post – that’s event is a must during your VMware Explore week in Last Vegas this year! Regardless of your coding skills or VMware technologies you know (vSphere, vSAN, VMware Cloud, Tanzu and more), there are literally thousands of software development possibilities to collaborate on. This year, the Hackathon is organized as an Open Hack. Teams will be led by a team captain who proposes the team’s goal, theme and technology focus.

Effectively starting from today (15th May 2023) until 15 July there is an opportunity to registrer your Hackathon team and submit proposals.

Participation will require some involvement on your side not only during the event but also before as there will be a few weekly calls scheduled already before the event. But it’s definitely worth it to be well prepared and make it the most use of it during the event itself.
